Biography
Adunni Adewale, known as Adunni Ade, is a Nigerian actress, fashion model, brand ambassador, and social media influencer.
Adunni was born on June 7, 1982, in Queens, New York, to a German-Irish mother and a Yoruba Nigerian father.
She is one of the biggest actresses in Nollywood at the moment. She has featured in about 100 movies (both English and Yoruba Nollywood).
Adunni has shown her acting talent in numerous movies and, most recently, productions.
Education
Adunni attended Chrisland Primary School, Opebi, Lagos State for her elementary education before heading to Bells Comprehensive Secondary School, Ota, Ogun State for her secondary education.
She then later proceeded to the University of Kentucky, where she bagged a bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 2008.
Career
After graduation from the University of Kentucky, she worked briefly in the housing sector in the states and also in the medical insurance department of the State of Maryland. She then switched to the entertainment industry, where she appeared in an edition of America’s Next Top Model.
On getting back to Nigeria in 2013, Adunni got her first role in Nollywood in a movie titled “You or I.”
In 2014, she featured in a short skit called “Date Gone Bad,” which hit about 170,000 views on Youtube. This further projected her into the spotlight.
Adunni has also featured in Yoruba and English Nigerian movies in which she construed her roles so perfectly.
Aside from appearing in movies, Adunni has also been featured in some music videos for Ice Prince and other top music artists.
In 2018, she wrote her first Yoruba movie, “Emi Mi – My Soul”, which was directed by Saheed Balogun and features Ibrahim Chatta, D’Marion Young, Sunkanmi Omobolanle, and Sola Kosoko, amongst others.
Adunni delved into film production in 2021. Her debut production was SOÓLÈ, directed by Kayode Kasum, and it features top movie stars like Shawn Faqua, Femi Jacobs, Lateef Adedimeji, Sola Sobowale, and Meg Otanwa.
The movie grossed about 10.2 million naira in its opening weekend and 16 million naira in its opening week in the cinema. It also hit 51 million naira at the box office, ranking among the top 10 Nollywood movies in cinemas for 2021.
Marriage
Adunni Ade was reportedly in a relationship with Michael Boyd, with whom she had two kids.

She, however, reportedly stated that she made a difficult choice by breaking up with Michael Boyd and had since remained a single mother.
In her words, she said, “Well, I just had to make that decision, though it took me a long time to realize and stop lying to myself that it was never going to work out even though I tried as much as I could.”
“I just decided that what’s best for me is to walk away and still be here and be with my kids and still have the opportunity of being the best mother possible, so yeah, I had to make that decision.”

Adunni earns her wealth from movie making, modelling, and ambassadorial deals.
She is reportedly valued at a net worth of about $1 million. However, this cannot be independently verified.
Achievements
Adunni the Best Yoruba Actress award at the 5th Edition of Cool Wealth awards.
She was also a recipient of the Stella Award from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism for her contribution to promoting Nigerian culture.
She has also been nominated for the Best Supporting Actress in Africa’s biggest movie awards, AMVCA 2017.
Adunni is, however, a proud winner of the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Lagos Film Festival.
She is also a brand ambassador for OUD Majestic.

Controversy
After the 2022 AMVCA award, Adunni took to her Instagram page to take a clap at her colleagues who use fake Instagram accounts to troll her for not having big butts.
She uploaded a video of herself at the AMVCA awards, captioning it with a lengthy warning to her colleagues, she said “In 2022, we see people still body shaming folks out here? I look damn good at my age! Always been a dime piece! An amazing mother of 2 young boys! A certified hustler! Making legit money! It’s yNash that is some of you problem? Even jobless colleagues go using fake pages to body shame? ?? you wey get big ynash, how much you get for your account? God punish the devil sha!
