Early Life and Education
Maryam Apaokagi was born on February 28, 1999, in Ilorin, Kwara State, but spent most of her childhood in Namibia. Taaooma began her education in Kwara State before moving to Abuja to finish her primary education. She later completed her secondary school education at Concordia College in Namibia. Afterwards, she returned to Kwara State. She attended Kwara State University and graduated with a degree in Tourism and Travel Service Management.
She began doing online comedy in 2015 after convincing her fiancé (now husband) to teach her the basic concepts of video editing. Taaooma apparently took her training seriously and rose to fame in 2019 with a skit about African parents driving their children to school. In the same year, she became the face of Media Room Hub’s July Issue. Her comedic performances focus on exposing African mothers and their unique method of disciplining African children with a slap.

The couple married shortly after Abula proposed to her on the roof of a magnificent hotel in Namibia’s beautiful city of Windhoek. She revealed that they had been together for five years, since 2015 (when she was 16), before tying the knot.
