Maryam Apaokagi was born on February 28, 1999, in Ilorin, Kwara State, but spent most of her childhood in Namibia. Taaooma began her education in Kwara State before moving to Abuja to finish her primary education. She later completed her secondary school education at Concordia College in Namibia. Afterwards, she returned to Kwara State. She attended Kwara State University and graduated with a degree in Tourism and Travel Service Management.

She began doing online comedy in 2015 after convincing her fiancé (now husband) to teach her the basic concepts of video editing.
